2006 Fund Drive raises money for Patient Relief Fund

The Bath Community Hospital Foundation has successfully raised over $42,000 for The Patient Relief Fund, an endowment established in 2005 to give income eligible patients immediate access to critical medications and home care equipment.

“Many people in our community are on a fixed income and can’t afford expensive medications,” reports Debbie Lipes, chief executive officer at Bath Community Hospital . “Even those with health insurance may not have prescription benefits and there is always a processing period for those applying for public or private assistance. That lapse in coverage could mean interrupted treatment for patients in need, and it is our mission to provide all of our patients with the most effective treatment plan possible. The Patient Relief Fund guarantees our ability to carry out our mission.”

The Patient Relief Fund is the Bath Community Hospital Foundation’s third successful fundraising campaign.
